Exclusive: BBC Studios appointed Amanda Wilson and Elliott Johnson, co-founders of Panegay’s production company Sharp Jack, who have been responsible for co-creating international successes including: Stalking And the Come neatly dance.
Wilson and Johnson will join General Manager Susie Lamb’s Entertainment and Music Production division as Creative Directors, helping the BBC’s commercial arm to create and develop entertainment formats that can be sold around the world.
They will work alongside current Entertainment Creative Directors Mel Ballack, Pete Ogden and James Payne to provide editorial direction and strategic business leadership to the development team.
The duo launched Sharp Jack Media in 2011 before joining Banijay (then Endemol Shine UK) in 2017 to become Joint Managing Directors of Sharp Jack TV. During their time with the costume, they created shows including TLC UK Always a bridesmaid And the E4’s Honey, what have you done to your hair?.

Before co-founding Sharp Jack, Wilson was part of the creative team that created ITV’s successful game show Stalking, Which was recently revived in the US by ABC. She also worked for BBC Studios to co-create Come neatly danceKnown K. Dancing With The Stars in America. Johnson, a former Fremantle executive, helped develop the The X Factor. He began his career in the BBC on programs including Higher than the pops up. The couple met while working on the Avalon Tinderbox-powered format department.
Lamb said, “Amanda and Elliott is a creative force. Their fingerprints can be found in some of the most popular contemporary formats for television sets.” Wilson added: “The last time I was at BBC we had success with it Come neatly dance.
