Berlinale Unveils Competition Line-Up: Follow Live – Deadline

The Berlin International Film Festival announcements end this week with the main cycle – competition and special screening programs. You can watch the press machine here live from 11am Berlin time, half of it in German, half in English.

The lineup was revealed by CEO Mariette Risenbeek and Technical Director Carlo Chatrian, and is broadcast live from Berlin. This is the second version of Team Leadership, and it can hardly be organized in more exotic conditions.

The films won’t be shown to the public until June, when Berlin is planning a summer physical event. However, the titles will be seen by default in buyers and the press during the European Film Market event in Berlin from March 1-5. In some regions such as Asia and Latin America, buyers may have access to a selection of the physical shows the festival has to offer. More on that in our recent interview with new EFM Chair Denis Roh.

A jury has been appointed from past Golden Bear winners – they will be in Berlin during the March Movie Watch in Theaters event and will decide the winners at their peak. A physical prize display is planned for the summer event.

During the past four days, the festival has also revealed Generation, Retrospective, Encounters, Panorama, Perspektive Deutsches Kino, Forum, Expanded Forum and Shorts.
