Discovery Taps Hulu Alum Patrizio “Pato” Spagnoletto As Direct-To-Consumer CMO – Deadline

Patrizio “Pato” Spagnoletto, former head of marketing at Hulu, joined Discovery as CEO of global marketing for the company’s direct-to-consumer business.

Spagnoletto, who is based in Los Angeles, will be reporting to JB Perrette, President and CEO of Discovery International.

This year Discovery launched the live streaming service Discovery + in the United States and other territories and is in the process of rolling it out globally.

Spagnoletto will occupy a newly created role and will look to cement Discovery + in the competitive streaming arena. He will have broad responsibilities for subscriber acquisition, retention and growth, media and analytics, brand awareness, creative marketing development and strategy, and consumer insights. In addition to overseeing the direct-to-consumer marketing team, Spagnoletto will also work closely with US networks and local international marketing teams to leverage Discovery’s assets to enhance the streaming service.
