Greenwich Boards Sundance Doc ‘Whirlybird’, Chronicling LA News Helicopter Couple – Deadline


Exclusive: Greenwich Entertainment acquired US rights in Whirlybird From A&E IndieFilms. The document, which premiered at Sundance last year, is the debut of Matt Yucca. It follows a husband and wife news helicopter team that has covered some of the most historic events in Los Angeles.

Including high-profile stories of the 1980s and 1990s such as riots in Los Angeles and the hunt for famous OJ Simpson Bronco, the movie shows how the couple has captured the city’s recent history, and also highlights a live news culture fueled by adrenaline.

Pic was produced by Yoka and Diane Becker with executive producers Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato and Josh Braun. Eileen Frontan Bryant, Rob Charino, and Molly Thompson are executive producers of A&E IndieFilms.

Andy Boone of Greenwich negotiated the deal with Submarine Josh Braun and Matt Burke on behalf of the filmmakers.
