Exclusive: It’s been a decade since Kate Winslet and Jay Pierce were together on the HBO series Mildred Pierce, The two are reworking another long project in the premium cable network.
Pierce was used to co-star in opposite Winslet Mare East Town, HBO limited series family & community focus, co-production of HBO and wiip. He replaced Ben Miles who had been originally cast for the role but quit due to scheduling conflicts over a year ago.
Written and Executive Produced by Brad Inglesby, who is also Director of Show, Mary of Easttown It stars Winslet as Mary Sheehan, a small-town Pennsylvania detective whose life collapses around her as she investigates a local murder.
Pierce plays Richard Ryan, a visiting professor of creative writing who wrote a great novel that won a National Book Award 25 years ago, but never fulfills his early promise.
The cast also includes Julian Nicholson, Jean Smart, Angourie Rice, Evan Peters, Kylie Spine David Denman, John Douglas Thompson, Patrick Morney, James McCardle, Susie Bacon, Joe Tibbitt and Neil Hove.
Winslet, Inglesby, and Zobel produce with Gavin O’Connor, Gordon Gray through Mime Pictures as well as Paul Lee and Mark Royball of the survey.
Winslet and Pearce both won Emmy Awards for their previous collaboration, HBO’s Mildred Pierce, That won a total of five Emmy Awards.
Pierce was recently seen in Mary, Queen of Scots Next to Saoirse Ronan, and bloodshot With Vin Diesel. He can then be seen on Stefano Sollima’s Without regrets. Pierce has been represented by CAA, Independent Talent in the UK, and Shanahan Management in Australia.
