Ricardo Salinas Plejo, Chairman of the Grupo Salinas Group and the third richest person in Mexico, delivers Bitcoin on social media.
The billionaire, who has an estimated net worth of over $ 13 billion as of January, changed his Twitter bio over the weekend to include the Bitcoin (BTC) retail brand. Crypto Twitter users and some of the more than 840,000 Salinas followers reported that they noticed the change on Saturday around the time the cryptocurrency asset’s price rose to over $ 40,000 for the first time in 23 days.

Speaking to Cointelegraph in December, Salinas revealed that he first bought Bitcoin at $ 200 in 2013, and was later sold during the rally of 2017 when the price reached $ 17,000. He described crypto assets as his “best investment ever”.
In November, Salinas said that 10% of his “liquid portfolio” was invested in BTC, and the remainder “in precious metal mines” the 65-year-old billionaire bought before the bitcoin price rose to an all-time high in December and January, which is What has more than doubled his investment. He said he does not plan to sell any crypto holdings for at least five years.
Salinas isn’t the only billionaire who has been using social media to pay cryptocurrencies recently. Today, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk continued his payment for Dogecoin (DOGE) cryptocurrency. Musk has targeted DOGE users in recent weeks as the token became entangled in a pumping and dumping effort by Reddit traders and investors. DOGE’s price has increased nearly 600% in the past 30 days.
