MTV Entertainment Group promoted veteran executives Lance McPherson and Bahareh Kamali to key positions. Macpherson was promoted to Executive Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Business and Legal Affairs, and Kamali to Executive Vice President Strategic Development.
Macpherson, who oversees the group’s business and legal functions, leads oversight of some of the company’s largest written and unregistered franchises such as the challenge And the catfish As well as business studios and MTV documentaries. Since joining the company more than two decades ago as a consultant to MTV Networks, MacPherson has risen through the ranks to occupy positions of increasing seniority. Kamali, who previously held the position of Senior Vice President, Strategic Development, will now act as the lead liaison alongside commercial and legal affairs across all content and talent for Nina El Diaz, Head of Content, Chief Content Officer. With nearly 20 years of experience with the company, Kamali has been instrumental in MTVE’s first-in-class development, development and innovation initiatives to support a new generation of BIPOC and female creators including a $ 250 million commitment to support third-party production companies. Kamali started her career in PBS and Screen Actors Guild.
