Showtime Sets Documentary On The Weeknd’s Super Bowl Halftime Show – Deadline


Showtime announced Display, A 90-minute documentary on how to make the 2021 Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime show, starring The Weeknd.

Directed by Nadia Halgreen (to be), Display Produced by in-house content studio Pepsi and Boardwalk Pictures, it will debut later this year on Showtime.

The documentary will deal with the most famous collaboration between Halftime Show first-time executive producer Jesse Collins, second-time executive producers Roc Nation and others “to accomplish one of the greatest musical productions during one of the most difficult and unprecedented times,” Showtime said in its announcement.

Hallgren said, “This historic year with Jesse Collins as the first black EP on the Halftime Show provided the opportunity to tell a new story.” “We have a window into the process of a diverse team of executives and innovators working to the highest standard, in front of and behind the camera. It’s fun to see these masters in action while uplifting others as well. I hope this inspires people to achieve big dreams.”

Those who worked alongside Collins and appeared in the documentary are XO’s La Mar Taylor (Creative Director of The Weeknd), creative designer Es Devlin, Lila Nikole (the first Latina stylist to work on the Halftime Show), and Bruce Rodgers at Construction group. Dion Harmon as producer and choreographer of Sharm Ladona.
